The Curtin Not-for-profit Initiative and WACOSS have launched the 2017 WA Not-for-profit Landscape Report. The official launch on February 14th launch was attended by key stakeholders across the sector and government, and revealed the community services sector to be a significant driver of the WA economy, employing 7% of the state’s workforce –

three times as many workers as agriculture, forestry and fishing put together, and just behind manufacturing and mining at 7.4% and 8% respectively.

The report is the outcome of the collaborative, Lotterywest-funded Community Sector Landscape Project, which undertook an environmental scan covering the sector’s size, diversity, sustainability, and economic and social significance, as well as providing a baseline by which the sector’s development will be measured into the future.
